FAQ – Injectible Fillers
What is Juvederm Injectible filler?
Juvederm® is one of the newest filler products to be approved by the US-FDA. Like several other fillers, it is made of hyaluronic acid and is used for corrections such as smoothing and diminishing facial folds and lines, restoring lips to a more youthful volume and definition, and providing volume to areas of the face where the process of aging has caused hollowness. Juvederm® is a smooth gel and therefore lends itself to a more natural looking correction of imperfections. It has been demonstrated to be safe on all skin types and ethnicities and is appropriate for all ages. There is no risk of allergic reaction with the use of this product.
As with all dermal fillers, Juvederm® is injected directly into the skin with a micro needle. There is little risk of any side effects. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding, or patients with weakened immune systems are not candidates for treatments with Juvederm®.
How long does it last?
Dermal fillers last approximately 6 to 12 months. Results may vary for each patient.
Are dermal fillers just for filling lines?
No. Dermal fillers can not only fill wrinkles and folds but it can also non-surgically lift the brows (brow lift), fill the hollows under the eyes, and augment the cheeks and chin. It is also a popular treatment to boost the volume in the lips. The dermal filler, Juvederm, may be used in combination with BOTOX® during a makeover.
