Acne Treatments and Acne Scarring Treatments

Acne is a skin disorder that is characterized by clogged pores, inflammation, and textured blemishes. Scarring frequently follows breakouts. The fact that acne is extremely common does not alleviate the distress it causes to the afflicted.

Acne is commonly treated with either a topical form of vitamin A, topical antibiotics, topical benzoyl peroxide, oral antibiotics or Accutane. Sufferers who have found these solutions to be unsuccessful or prefer to avoid taking long term oral antibiotics or Accutane may consider other options, such as laser skin treatment, microdermabrasion and therapeutic peels.

In addition to other means of treating acne, including prescription medications, our medical Doctor at Reflections Medi Aesthetics may recommend treatments that are a combination of medical laser treatments, therapeutic (chemical) peels and cosmetic approaches which are administered by a Clinic Aesthetician to provide deep cleansing, exfoliation, and the removal of what we call blackheads and whiteheads. The addition of a Medi-Facialmay be included to accelerate the results of this treatment.

Proper daily skin care is critical to effective management of acne. At Reflections Medi Aesthetics, we have a variety of preparations that are customized for acne afflicted skin. Active ingredients such as glycolic or salicylic acids and potent antioxidants are important factors that provide proper cleansing, exfoliation, and soothing of irritation and inflammation which often accompanies this condition.

The scars remaining after acne breakouts, characterized by discoloration, uneven texture and pockmarks, can be treated with Microdermabrasion and Therapeutic Peels.

To assist you in maintaining therapeutic results after your initial treatments, we have created both a Teen and Adult Maintenance Special. Please ask our staff for details. Call us at +65 6285 2080 or email us to schedule your consultation.
